Oats are a whole grain and energy source. Turmeric is anti inflammatory and aids in digestion. Ginger boosts immunity and eases stomach pain. Cinnamon promotes balanced blood sugar levels. Bananas provide fiber for bowel health and other micronutrients. Sunflower seeds contain healthy fats for heart health.
1/3 cup rolled oats
2/3 cup liquid of choice
1-2 TBSP maple syrup
1 TBSP sunflower seeds
1 TBSP raisins
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground turmeric
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 banana, sliced
You can substitute/add any of the ingredients for some of your favorites. You can use honey instead of maple syrup. You can also use any liquid, from water to cow’s milk or dairy free milk alternative. If you don’t have sunflower seeds, you can use whatever nuts or seeds you have. Feel free to omit the banana and raisins and use a different fruit for added fiber.

Add oats and liquid to a small pot over the stove
Cook over low heat for 5-10 minutes stirring regularly, until thickened
Add sweetener and spices; Mix to combine
Transfer to bowls for serving; Top with sunflower seeds, raisins, and banana slices
