Ingredients

1 cup rolled oats

3 cups water or milk

1/2 cup canned pumpkin

2 tsp ground pumpkin spice 

1-2 TBSP maple syrup (optional)

1/2-1 tsp vanilla extract (optionnal)

Pinch of salt 

 

 

Substitutions

Feel free to make this recipe your own based on what you like or what you already have. You can any kind of milk for the liquid, or only water. Feel free to add your favorite toppings like nuts, seeds, and fruit. If you don’t have pumpkin spice, opt for ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, or clove. 

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Add all ingredients to a large pot; Stir to combine

 

 

Step 2

Bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer

 

Step 3

Cook for about 15 min, stirring occasionally until oats are cooked and mixture has thickened

Optional: Add toppings such as chopped nuts, seeds, fresh or frozen fruit, berries, or nut butter.
