Ingredients

2 cups Self-rising flour

1-2 cups Non-fat Greek yogurt

1 large egg

Pinch of salt

1 tsp water

Seasoning of choice

 

 

Substitutions

Feel free to make this recipe your own based on what you like or what you already have. You can add your favorite seasoning, from sesame seeds and poppy seeds to garlic powder and flaky salt. 

 

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375F; Line a baking sheet with parchment paper

 

Step 2

Starting with 1 cup of yogurt, combine with flour in a large bowl until a dough forms; If needed, add additional yogurt to achieve a less sticky consistency

 

 

Step 3

Sprinkle flour on a flat surface; Knead the dough by hand for about 5 min; Divide the dough into 8 equal parts; Shape into a ball and make a hole in the center using your thumb; Stretch into a uniform sized ring; Repeat for each bagel; Place on a baking sheet

Step 4

Brush with egg wash, made by whisking egg, salt, and water in a small bowl; Sprinkle any toppings or seasonings over the bagels

 

Step 5

Bake for 20 min, rotating the baking sheet at the halfway point; Increase the oven to 450 F and bake for an additional 3-5 min until the tops of the bagels are golden; Serve warm or store in the fridge for up to 3 days
