Healthy Unsweetened Apple Sauce
This homemade unsweetened apple sauce is the perfect holiday side dish that is so easy to make and uses the simplest ingredients. With no added sugar, this apple sauce has a delicious touch of sweetness, great for children and babies!

Health Benefit: This simple side dish is made completely with apples! Apples are naturally sweet and rich in fiber to help support bowel health. Apples are also great sources of minerals like calcium and potassium which help the body maintain healthy bone and muscle.
- 1 large pot
- Immersion blender (optional)
- 4-5 apples of choice (I like using sweet varieties like fuji or gala)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- Water
You can substitute any type of apple, and/or add your favorite spices as you see fit!
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Peel, core, and chop 4-5 apples
Step 2
Combine apples and just enough water to cover them in a pot over the stove
Step 3
Cook over medium heat until the apples are soft, around 30 minutes
Step 4
Mash with a fork or use an immersion blender to get your preferred consistency (Add more water if necessary); Add 1 tsp of cinnamon (optional)
